Access Statement For Sea House Bed & Breakfast Accommodation
Introduction
Our aim is to cater for the needs of all visitors and to make their stay an enjoyable one. This is a
summery of facilities on offer to guests. Please do not hesitate to call if you require any more information, and we look forward to welcoming
you to Sea House Swanage.
Pre-Arrival
- Bookings / Enquiries can be made via email or telephone or using the booking form on our website
- We have a Website www.sea-house.co.uk and some information on facebook - under seahouse
- We are situated in the town of swanage, it is 10 minutes flat walk to the beach. There are bus stops
near by and a steam train to corfe castle within short walking distance.
- The nearest mainline train station is at Wareham (20 mins by car), there are buses to swanage from
here or we can arrange taxis if required.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
- On Arrival to the property there is free on street parking, most often available in the street but the street is not very long so rarely one may have to park round the corner (a hundred meters or less).
- If you have mobility problems we can move one of our vehicles.
- We will be happy to assist guests with their luggage.
- Guests can be dropped off outside the gate if required.
- Our path is level stone. Lit at night. The Main entrance has two steps.
Main Entrance & Reception
- There is a bell on outside the porch on the right of the door.
- Main door is side hung and is locked and guests are supplied with their own key.
- Reception bright and the floor is striped wood.
- Stair case leads from reception and has door to Dining Room, second door on right.
Public Areas - General (Internal)
- Emergency instructions in the event of fire are displayed in bedrooms, on the back of the info small
information sheet.
- There are emergency night lights with detachable torches on the upper landing and in the hall way
should the power fail. There are both hard wired and battery fire alarms.
- Reception Area and Dining Room are wood floors. Bedrooms and stairs are carpeted.
- There are 16 stairs to first floor bedrooms with handrail.
- All bedroom and the kitchen doors are Fire doors.
- If guests can manage the stairs but have difficulty we have in the past had people use our
bathroom after breakfast and before going out as this is level ground floor. There is no public W.C.
- There is a shared guest fridge on the upper landing, you may put cool blocks in our freezer.
Dining Room
- Breakfast is served in the Dining Room on the ground floor.
- Lighting is bright and can be adjusted, please ask.
- Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request
- Special dietary requirements can be arranged on request
- We are a non smoking establishment except in the front garden
Bedrooms
- There are two bedrooms on the first floor, en suite with shower.
- There is one ( the four poster) en suite with bath.
- Non smoking throughout
- Hairdryers, toiletries provided.
- Shared guest fridge on the landing
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC Ensuite
- The superking or twin bedded room has the largest shower and en suite. Better for larger guests or
those with movement problems. Four poster is the most spacious room.
- The super king/twin beds are the ones without head/foot boards, better for taller guests.
- Non slip floors in ensuites, although I personally have found the superking ensuite a little slippy, bath mats are provided.
- Basins supply mains drinking water.
- We are currently up grading all bedroom curtains to be lined in case guests are bothered by light at
night.
Additional Information
- We accept well behaved dogs and guide dogs.
- We have two dogs ourselves - a calm and gentle chocolate labrador and a more anxious but highly
friendly and loving woodle (westie/poodle). If you do not like dogs we can keep them away. They are
not allowed into guest rooms.
- All rooms have televisions and tea/coffee facilities
- Arrival time can be arranged in advance and can be flexible.
- We can store equipment in a lockable garage, you may leave muddy shoes/boots in the front porch if
needed.
- We accept cheques or cash, paypal and shortly credit cards via a virtual terminal.
- There is a passcode locked (secure) wifi available free in the house.
- Washing and drying available with charge applicable. Ironing board/iron available on request
- Gas fired central heating throughout.
Outdoor Facilities
- There is a small front garden with garden furniture seating three or four
